If you are a Spotify fan wanting to take your music streaming to the next level, you are in the right place. In this article, I will share five apps that can totally transform how you enjoy your favorite music and podcasts on Spotify. Whether you are into creating super-personalized playlists or looking for better ways to organize your music, these apps have got you covered. Let us dive in and see what they’re all about!
1. TrackQueen
Although Spotify is all about streaming music, it does not provide all the information about the music you are playing. But TrackQueen can do the job. It gives you analysis, background information, comments, lyrics, videos and other details about the music you are currently playing. However, you need to use this with Spotify web player on mac or iOS devices.
To get all the available info about your music while playing, open the TrackQueen on a second tab and refresh it if needed. You will be presented with lyrics, track annotations, music video, artist biography, etc. The best part is that its completely free to use and you can even add features that are removed from Spotify such as lyrics.
2. Last.fm
If you are interested in seeing your music listening habits to finding new songs and podcast you’ll love, you should definitely use last.fm. It can connect to your Spotify account and record everything you listen to creating a personalized music profile for you. If you have subscribed to Spotify premium, you can play songs right on last.fm using its “Spotify Playback” feature. Once you’re set up, you can see your recent tracks, top songs, favorite artists, and tailored recommendations.
What I particularly like about last.fm is that it’s more than just numbers. You can make playlists, connect them from your Spotify account, and check the “Live” section to see what other people are listening to right now all over the world. You can download it for Android, iOS, or use the web app directly from your browser.
3. PlaylistAI
Making playlists on Spotify can sometimes be a hassle, but PlaylistAI makes it so much easier. It’s a smart tool that helps you create playlists in no time, and you can use it through ChatGPT, on the web, or as an app for iPhones. If you are using it with ChatGPT, just log in, type in what kind of playlist you want, or choose from one of its suggestions. It’ll put together a list of songs, and you can tweak it until it’s perfect.
When your playlist is ready, PlaylistAI can turn it into a real playlist on Spotify. It even works with other apps like Apple Music, Deezer, and Amazon Music. It’s like having a little music assistant that does all the hard work for you!
4. Discoverify
Discoverify enhances Spotify by bringing music discovery to new heights through custom daily playlists. It builds a 30-song playlist for you that draws from the tunes you already enjoy. You can pick the atmosphere for your playlist, whether you’re in the mood for something upbeat to move to or more chilled-out and easygoing. Discoverify allows you to set the perfect tone for your listening session.
What I find awesome about it is how much you can tweak it. You can add chart-toppers or go for songs with more instruments and fewer words. Once you link Discoverify to your Spotify account, it handles everything making a new tailored playlist for you without any extra work. It’s like having a music pal who always knows what you’re in the mood to hear!
5. Soundiiz
Switching music streaming platforms can be a hassle, especially if you have a big music library like I do. Soundiiz makes it easy to transfer and recreate your playlists and favorite songs across 43 music services, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal. It saves so much time and effort when you are moving your collection to a new platform.
The free version lets you connect platforms and convert playlists with up to 200 songs one at a time. If you need more, the Premium plan is worth it, offering full music data transfers, playlist syncing, and tools to manage albums, tracks, and artists for just a few dollars a month. If it is just a one-time move, you can grab the Premium plan, complete the transfer, and cancel after you are done. It is simple and stress-free!
6. Stats.fm
If you love keeping track of your Spotify listening habits, Stats.fm is a must-have. It goes beyond the basics and shows stats you will not find in the Spotify app, like your top artists, songs, genres, and albums. Connecting your Spotify account is quick, and it gives you a clear picture of your unique music taste.
For even deeper insights, you can upgrade to Stats.fm Plus for a small fee. This gives you access to fun features like seeing your total listening minutes, your top 10,000 tracks, and detailed charts that show how often you listen and when. I really like the “music soulmate” feature because it helps you find people who enjoy the same music as you. There are also cool tools like listening clocks and custom sorting that let you see your stats in a fun way. It does not cost much, and it makes exploring your music even more interesting!
7. Obscurify
If you have ever wondered how unique your music taste is, Obscurify is such a fun app to check out. When you log in with Spotify, it gives you an “obscurity rating” that compares your music choices to others in your country. It also shows you your most unique artists, favorite genres, and top songs in a way that is super easy to understand. You can even check out how your music moods and favorite decades compare to what other people are listening to.
What I really like about Obscurify is that we can easily share our music stats with friends through a link and see how our tastes compare to them. Additionally, it gives you music recommendations that match your style, which you can turn into a Spotify playlist with just a single click.
So those are the third party apps I use to improve and enhance my Spotify music streaming experience. I usually use free apps, but can try the paid one if you want even more features. Now, it’s my list; mention your favorite apps in the comment section below.
